Description
Screen Studies Collection contains current film scholarship alongside detailed and expansive filmographies for American and international films. It contains 3 major subcollections:
- FIAF International Index to Film Periodicals Database: Indexing and some full text for academic journals from 1972 - present; chapters from reference works on film and TV; and FIAF's Treasures from the Film Archives, a guide to silent-era film holdings in international film archives.
- American Film Institute Catalog: A comprehensive national filmography documenting American films from 1893 through the 21st century. It includes information about every major American film produced from 1893 to 1993 and selected films produced from 1994 to present. Its scope is films produced on American soil or by American production companies. For the years 1910-present, it is limited to films 40 minutes or longer in duration or 4 reels or longer in length. For the years 1893-1910, it also includes short films.
- Film Index International: International index produced in collaboration with the British Film institute of over 130,000 films produced in over 180 countries from 1900 - present, plus profiles for around 1 million people involved in the film industry
The database provides textual information about films, but it does not contain any streaming video content. This database may be cross-searched with other databases in ProQuest One Entertainment & Popular Culture.
