How Do I use the Libraries text messaging notification system?

To sign up to receive text messages notifying you of hold availability or due date changes, or to update your information, visit or call the circulation desk of any Rutgers library.

How long will it take to start receiving text messages once I have submitted my request?

The processing time may be up to 72 hours. When your request has been processed you will receive an email confirmation.

Will text messages replace email notices?

No, you will continue to receive email notices which will provide more detailed information.

Will I receive texts for all library notices?

No, at this time texts will be sent for Holds Available for pick up (initial and 3 day reminder notices to pick up) and Recalls (initial and 3 day reminder notices to return recalled book).
