Rutgers Restricted Access
The fulltext of over six thousand periodicals from the collections of the American Antiquarian Society. Most are from the later eighteenth and the nineteenth century and most are American, although titles from the British Isles and elsewhere are also included. The database searches general interest and religious magazines, periodicals intended for women and children, and specialized publications in literature, science, agriculture, medicine, and other fields. It provides full-text access to poetry, short stories and serialized novels, as well as articles and some editorials, cartoons, and advertisements. Search results are provided as full-page PDF images, with the individual article outlined in red. Double click on the article within the page image to enlarge the text. The database is searchable by full text, author, article title, publication title, date, and, for some publications, by subject.
