American Antiquarian Society Historical Periodicals Collection contains over 6,000 digitized periodicals from the collections of the American Antiquarian Society. Most date from the late 18th-19th centuries. Most were published in America, though some were published in the British Isles and elsewhere. A wide variety of publication types are included, such as general interest magazines, religious magazines, periodicals for women and children, and specialized publications in literature, science, agriculture, medicine, and other fields. Each periodical may include a variety of content types, such as articles, poetry, short stories, serialized novels, editorials, cartoons, and advertisements.

All periodicals in this collection have been digitized and are fully searchable. Each search result links to a full-page image with the individual article outlined in red. You can double click on the image to enlarge it. Page images are also downloadable as PDFs.
