Description
The DYABOLA platform contains several databases of scholarship on art history, archaeology, and the ancient world. These databases cover the Mediterranean world and Europe from antiquity through the early medieval period. Each database indexes books, festschrift, journals, conference proceedings, dissertations, essays, and collected works on antiquities, art, and archaeology. Each database is searchable in multiple languages, such as English, French, German, Italian, and Polish. Rutgers has access to the following databases on the DYABOLA platform:
- Archaeological Bibliography (Realkatalog)
- The Subject Catalogue of the Roman-Germanic Commission (RGK) in Frankfurt
- Bibliography of European Prehistory, Monographs (RGK)
- Eurasienbibliographie des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts
The most important of these is the Archaeological Bibliography (the electronic counterpart and continuation of Realkatalog des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts Rom), a comprehensive index of classical archaeology publications dating back to 1956. Aside from these 4 databases, Rutgers does not have access to any other databases on the DYABOLA platform.
