Description

The Naxos Music Library is a collection of more than 2 million tracks of music from the catalog of Naxos, a leading classical music label, and selected additional labels, including BIS, Chandos, Hänssler, Hungaroton, Marco Polo, and Ondine. Although Naxos is best known for its classical recordings, Naxos Music Library also includes world, folk, jazz, contemporary, operetta, musical theatre, and national anthem recordings. The collection is regularly updated with Naxos’s new releases, which total over 200 new albums per year. In addition, Naxos offers a number of text resources, including overviews of music history, work analyses, program notes for recordings, and opera synopses and libretti.

A small number of recordings in Naxos Music Library are not available in the United States due to territorial or copyright restrictions. These recordings are thus not available through Rutgers’ subscription.

Dates covered

Recordings date from the 20th and 21st centuries. Music recorded was composed from c.1150 to the present.
