National Guideline Clearinghouse

Unrestricted Access

This is a public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. NGC is sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in partnership with the American Medical Association and the American Association of Health Plans.  The main focus of the database is the Guidelines section, which is searchable by broad topic or by contributing organization.  Full-text copies of most guidelines are linked from the database.  Also included are sections on Expert Commentaries, Guideline Syntheses, and a Guideline Matrix.  Guideline Syntheses represent systematic comparisons of selected guidelines.  The Guidelines Matrix may be used to generate a table of results in which  highlights  methods used to assess the quality and strength of the evidence presented in guidelines compared to the methods used to analyze the evidence.  Users can link to guidelines from within the tabular display.  There is also a link available for those wishing to submit guidelines, found in a frame on the left side of the page.  Users can customize the database by creating a My GC account.
