Description

Acta Sanctorum is the electronic version of the classic print work Acta Sanctorum (Acts of the Saints), a 68-volume work covering the lives of Roman Catholic saints and originally published by the Société des Bollandistes in Antwerp and Brussels. The work is organized by each saint's feast day and runs from the two January volumes published in 1643 to the final volume, the Propylaeum of December, published in 1940. The database contains the entire Acta Sanctorum, including all prefatory material, original texts, critical apparatus and indices. Bibliotheca Hagiographica Latina reference numbers are also included. The majority of the text is in Latin.
