American Periodicals is a platform for historical digitized American magazines and journals. On this platform, Rutgers has access to the following collections:
- American Periodical Series, 18th Century (APS I)
- American Periodical Series, 1800-1850 (APS II)
- American Periodical Series, 1850-1900 (APS III)
In total, these contain more than 1,000 magazines and journals. Each issue is digitized and searchable from cover to cover, including all articles, advertisements, illustrations, editorial cartoons, obituaries, letters to the editor, and other types of content. The collection includes special interest and general magazines, literary and professional journals, trade journals, children's and women's magazines, and many other historically significant periodicals.
Rutgers has access to the American Periodicals Series collections through this interface. Rutgers does not have access to the related product American Periodicals from the Center for Research Libraries.
