China Data Online
China Data Online provides detailed official statistics on the population and economy of China. It is updated monthly with the latest statistics. Rutgers has access to three major parts of this database: China Statistics, Census Data, and Free China Maps.
- The China Statistics section provides comprehensive and updated information on China's economic development at national, provincial, city, county, and industrial levels. This data is updated monthly.
- The Census Data section includes data from various censuses, including population, economic, and industrial censuses. It features complete coverage of all provinces, cities, counties and townships of Mainland China. This section includes about 3000 electronic Census data books.
- Free China Maps includes geospatial mappings of data from various censuses.
The database also includes the newsfeed Latest China Statistical News. The primary language of the database is English, but some spreadsheets and data books are also available in Chinese. For definitions of statistical indicators, see the “Dictionary” section at the top of the page. Rutgers does not subscribe to the China Spatial Data section of the database.
