Description

Dictionary of Old English is a dictionary of the English language as used from its origin circa 600 through 1150 A.D. It is based on a wide range of texts, which vary in date, dialect, and genre. It includes a list of every spelling for each word, frequency counts for each word, usage labels noting when a word is only used in specific circumstances (such as within a class of texts,  within a particular period or dialect, or by a single author), and exhaustive citations for all words of twelve or fewer occurrences.

The dictionary is a work in progress, and it is being completed letter by letter. The first half of the alphabet is complete, while letters later in the alphabet have not yet been released.
