Digital Scriptorium
Digital Scriptorium is a free search portal that allows you to discover medieval and Renaissance manuscripts held by over 40 American libraries, archives, and museums. For each manuscript, Digital Scriptorium includes an extensive description and a limited number of images; in many cases, is does not include images of all pages of the manuscript. Digital Scriptorium offers many search and browse options, including location, language, date, country of origin, format (dated manuscript, document, or figurative decoration), and the institution where the manuscript currently resides.
Languages include, but not limited to, Arabic, Aramaic, English, French, Greek, German, Hebrew, Italian, Judeo-Arabic, Latin, Ottoman Persian, Sanskrit, Spanish, and Turkish.
123 of the original manuscripts in Digital Scriptorium reside in Rutgers Special Collections and University Archives.
