Filmakers Library Online

Filmakers Library Online is a collection of over 1,500 feature-length documentary films made by independent filmakers from all over the world. The majority of the films date from 1974 to the 21st century. The films focus on social and political issues and are relevant to a variety of academic areas, including anthropology, race and gender studies, human rights, globalization and global studies, multiculturalism, international relations, criminal justice, the environment, bioethics, health, political science and current events, psychology, arts, and literature.

A searchable transcript accompanies each video. Index terms are assigned to each video to aid in searching. The Alexander Street video platform offers the ability to create playlists, create video clips, permalink to videos, and embed videos in course management systems.

Rutgers owns Filmakers Library Online Volumes 1, 2, and 3. Rutgers does not own any other volumes of this collection.
