Description

GeoRef is an index of geoscience literature covering the geology of North America from 1693 - present and the geology of the rest of the world from 1933 - present. It includes references to scholarly journals, books, conference papers, reports, maps, publications of the U.S. Geological Survey, and dissertations and theses from the U.S. and Canada. The GeoRef database also includes GeoRef In Process, which consists of brief records that are in the process of being fully indexed. The majority of the GeoRef In Process records are for historic non-English language literature.

GeoRef is produced by the American Geosciences Institute. Some of its citations are from the print publications Bibliography and Index of Geology, Geophysical Abstracts (Washington, D.C.), Bibliography of North American Geology (including its earlier titles), and Bibliography and Index of Geology Exclusive of North America.
