Global events are covered, but the primary focus is the United States. Topics covered include civil rights; student activism; the Vietnam War; radical movements on the right and the left; law and government; the women’s rights movement and second-wave feminism; gay and lesbian rights; the environmental movement; the counter culture; sexual revolution; mass and underground media; arts, music, and leisure; and scientific and technological change.
