Description

Brill’s Medieval Reference Library Online provides fully searchable access to the following reference works in medieval studies:

  • Encyclopedia of Medieval Pilgrimage (2009)
  • Encyclopedia of the Medieval Chronicle (2010, with 2016 update)
  • Encyclopaedia of Medieval Dress and Textiles of the British Isles c. 450-1450 (2012, with 2016 update)
  • Brill's Encyclopaedia of the Middle Ages (2016)

The first three titles were previously available in print, while the fourth is completely new.  There are over 4000 signed entries and over 200 illustrations.  It is possible to limit one’s search to these four works, to selected additional Brill reference titles, or to search all Brill titles.  Be aware that, when searching outside Brill’s Medieval Reference Library, there is not necessarily a link to the full text.
