Description
HistoryMakers is a collection of video oral history interviews with African Americans who have made significant contributions in a wide variety of fields. The collection helps form a more complete and inclusive record of American history and educates viewers about the achievements of African Americans. The collection includes over 3,000 interviews. Each interview is divided into several “stories,” which are video clips that describe specific life events. Each interview covers the interviewee’s entire span of memories as well as his or her own family’s history. Interviewees are from all regions of the United States, and their personal and family histories span from the late 19th to the early 21st century.
