Universitywide
Tony Nguyen

Rutgers University Libraries is pleased to announce that Tony Nguyen has been selected as the Associate University Librarian for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS). Mr. Nguyen comes to the Libraries with a strong background in medical and health sciences librarianship, first at Mount Carmel Health Center and later at the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM), where he held positions in Outreach and Communications, Technology and Communications, and for the past six years, as the Executive Director. These experiences have showcased Mr. Nguyen's strong leadership and management skills, outreach and communications focus, and functional expertise in research data management.

Mr. Nguyen's arrival comes at a pivotal and exciting time as the New Jersey Medical School (Newark) and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (New Brunswick) begin merging into The Rutgers School of Medicine. This merger will provide the libraries with new opportunities to highlight our expertise in research support services, alignment to tailored instruction, maintenance of relevant and timely resources, and ongoing commitment to patron service. We are confident Mr. Nguyen will be a strong leader in these engagement and education efforts.

Mr. Nguyen holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from The Ohio State University. He will be based in the George E. Smith Library but will also have a strong presence at the Library of Science and Medicine and Robert Wood Johnson Library.

Rutgers University Libraries is grateful to Victoria Wagner, who served in the Interim role at RBHS during the search process.
