ProQuest One Global Studies & International Relations
ProQuest One Global Studies & International Relations contains digitized primary and secondary sources, including U.S. government documents, archival materials, academic and popular journals, newspapers and news transcripts, and audio and video content. These resources illuminate global issues in historical and contemporary contexts. Many of these resources are hosted on the ProQuest platform, but some resources are hosted on the Alexander Street platform and must be accessed using the "Also Available to You" menu box on the homepage.
On the ProQuest Platform, there are 2 sub-collections:
- Digital National Security Archive: Digitized declassified government documents preserved by the nonprofit research institute National Security Archive, covers U.S. foreign, military, and intelligence policy, chronicling critical world events from post-World War II through the 21st century. Digitized documents include presidential directives, essays, memoranda, policy papers, reports, telegrams, photos, and more. Many of these have not been made available previously and were gathered through extensive use of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act.
- Global & International Studies Collection: A wide variety of mainstream and niche newspapers, news magazines, and other historical news periodicals, plus academic journals focused on global studies topics, regional history, and ethnic prespectives. Highlights include Newsweek, BBC News Bulletin Scripts, the Alt-PressWatch Collection, the Ethnic NewsWatch Collection, and communist, leftist, socialist, and radical periodicals.
These documents are all cross-searchable using the ProQuest One Global Studies & International Relations platform search. They can also be cross-searched as part of ProQuest Digital Collections.
The "Also Available to You" box on the homepage links to additional primary source collections available on the Alexander Street primary source platform. These primary sources are available to Rutgers as part of ProQuest One Global Studies & International Relations but are not included in the platform-wide search because they are on a separate platform.
