Description

Roper iPoll, produced by the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at Cornell University, brings together public opinion data from surveys conducted by major polling organizations in the United States and around the world. The database has two searchable components:

  • Questions include over 725,000 questions from public opinion polls on a broad range of topics. Questions can be searched by keyword, topic, date, or source. Only polls of the United States population at the national level are included.
  • Datasets consist of over 25,000 dataset abstracts, including U.S. and international studies. Some datasets are interlinked to their questions in iPOLL. Many datasets can be downloaded.

1935 to the present.

Sources

The database includes polls from many sources: major news organizations (CBS, ABC, Associated Press, etc.), public opinion research centers (Gallup, Harris, Pew, etc.), and major academic and commercial pollsters.

Type of coverage

Poll results are presented at the question level.
