Established in 1996, the Scholarly Communication Center, located on the fourth floor of Alexander Library, played a major role in providing the tools and platforms for digital libraries and publishing unique materials for the Libraries and the university community as a whole. In 2016, the Technical and Automated Services department at Rutgers University Libraries assumed responsibility for all digital infrastructure development for the Libraries.
