Search our collections

Special Collections and University Archives (SC/UA) holds manuscript, archival, and printed materials from several curatorial areas, more fully described under the heading "Collections" on our main website. To find specific research materials patrons should search our online library catalog (which includes records of many manuscript collections) before consulting our finding aids.

Online library catalog

In addition to most of our electronic resources, QuickSearch contains holdings from our library catalog, including records for books and other printed materials, microforms, and part of our map collection. In addition, it includes summary descriptions of many of our manuscript materials, for which finding aids may be found separately below. To search our holdings most effectively, do an advanced search and use the Library filter to select Special Collections-University Archives (view instructions).

Finding aids

Finding aids (also called collection guides or inventories) are descriptions of a collection's contents. The format and level of description may vary, ranging from summary descriptions in our online or card catalogs to detailed finding aids, many of which are available online.

An increasing number of our online finding aids can be searched across collections in our finding aids in EAD (Encoded Archival Description). Please check this site regularly, as it is continuously updated.
